Do you remember the Ford Mondeo? It was one of the most iconic sedans of the blue oval brand, manufactured and marketed across 4 generations of models between 1993 and 2021. The first generation was also available in North American market as the Contour, alongside with its premium alternative choice, the Mercury Mystique. The 2nd and 3rd generations of the Mondeo were available only in European market, while North America had the Fusion since 2005 with a compeletly different design. In 2013, Europe and North America had once again the same model: For Europe it was the 4th gen of the Mondeo and for North America it was the 2nd gen of the Fusion. In 2021, Ford axed the Fusion from the North American market, while in Europe the Mondeo reached the end of its life in 2022.
However, the Mondeo got one more 5th generation in 2022, but unfortunately it's only for the Chinese market. What if Europe also had a new Mondeo, alongside with its NA-market version, the Fusion? For sure, the new model would have a completely different design to meet the European (for the Mondeo) and the American (for the Fusion) standards. It could share the same platform with the all-new Mazda 6e electric sedan, but being heavily redesigned with Ford-ish elements from other models (such as the Mustang Mach-E and the Capri SUV). This is also how a joint venture between Ford & Mazda could be revived
